About Us

Introducing the new era of Facilities Development

Since 2015, with the rapid advancement of technologies that were adaptable to the built environment, Facilities Management globally experienced a notable transformation. It began shifting from a low margin, labour based model, to adopting a more sustainable, technology driven approach. Today as these trends emerge and the tides of change continuously shift, the field of Facilities Management today is slowly evolving into the new era of Facilities Development.

Facility Development pertains to the conception, planning and construction of a facility, encompassing all the phases of its construction as well as the facility’s lifecycle. It involves the integration of cost saving strategies, cutting-edge technologies, sustainable practices and the implementation of Certified Management Systems. Integrating smart building systems, renewable energy sources, and innovative materials are common in modern facility development. The aim is to create and sustain a facility that not only meets current international standards but is also equipped to embrace future advancements. In essence, Facility Development lays the foundation for a facility’s future existence, emphasizing foresight, sustainability and innovation, while Facility Management ensures its continued functionality and optimization in the present.

What also sets Facility Development apart from Facilities Management is its focus on the sustained relevance and financial viability of the facility. It requires a strategic approach to anticipate future requirements and trends, ensuring that the facility is not only functional as per its original design, but remains responsive and adaptable to changes over time. The mind-set is transformed from simply ensuring the maintenance of the existing. The emphasis is now on creating a dynamic mosaic of a sustainable, technologically advanced, financially viable and an aesthetically pleasing environment.

The use and integration of tools such as Enterprise Management Systems, Building Automation, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence is continuously transforming the built environment.
